Tack Road is an animated series following the misadventures of Robert and Doug. Robert is the pet cat of a single mother and sees himself as a father figure to her daughter, Kelly. In the first episode, Kelly starts kindergarten. Robert is consequently left with more free time and ends up spending his first day off “dad duty” with the nervous and awkward cat, Doug, who lives across the street and looks up to Robert. As the show progresses, these two cats become fast friends. They spend most of their time outside together, often trying to solve human problems with a limited understanding of them, given their peanut cat brains.
Tack Road was created, animated and written by Sally Myers. The show is voiced by Sally Myers and Clare McCarthy, who are the creators of Snake and Bake Productions. Much like Robert and Doug, Sally and Clare are also best friends. The show is loosely based on the relationship of their two cats Larry and Vito.
